For that reason, I am attaching some short videos in which you will learn how to do it. Just keep in mind that you will have to change the helping verb depending on the person you are describing.

LISTENING ACTIVITY


PURPOSE: This listening activity's main objective is to review the previous topics through the game Guess Who. While students enjoy the activity, they will learn and identify the appropriate vocabulary to describe their physical traits and personality.

Here the students will find a pre-listening activity (matching game and search word game), during-listening activity (fill in the blanks and hangman game) and a post-listening activity (answer questions, write a paragraph, and solve a puzzle).

TIME: The activity will be developed in 2 sessions. In case students present difficulties with the development of the listening activity, it will be necessary to add more time to clarify instructions, verify understanding and later assist with the development of the activities proposed for this unit.

LEVEL: This activity was designed for the fourth-grade students. They are around nine and ten years old. According to the DBA, they will be at level A1.1


PRE-LISTENING ACTIVITIES

Hi Guys!

Let’s practice what we have learned in our previous classes.
Here you will find two activities to review vocabulary related to physical and personality description.

Please make sure, you will do this activity before going to the main listening activity.

Instructions:
  • Solve the matching game. In this activity, you need to match the image according to their corresponding physical description.
  • Solve the word-search game. In this activity, you will find words (adjectives) to describe personality.






LISTENING ACTIVITIES

Now, we have to listen to the main activities.
According to the podcast that is below, you need to complete the following activities. But, before listening to the podcast, read and follow the instructions!

Instructions:
  • Listen to the podcast the times you think is necessary to understand it.
  • Fill the blanks with the vocabulary that is in the box to complete the text. Remember, you need to complete the text according to the conversation between Erika and Leidy.
  • Finally, look for the new words in the dictionary





POST - LISTENING ACTIVITIES:

After doing the listening, activities are your time to create. You are going to complete three simple tasks.

1.  Answer these questions based on the conversation between Erika and Leidy.

  • Who does not have long hair?
  • Who is clever?
  • Who has curly hair?
  • Who has short hair?
  • Who is a hardworking person?
  • Who is not a shy person?
  • Who are the characters?
2. Write-in your notebook, a short paragraph in which you will describe someone’s personal description. But you do not mention his/her name, and let your classmates guess who you are talking about. 

3. Finally, you will find a game in which you need to solve the puzzles.
